I first heard this version of Lao Duangduean in the documentary 100 Years, Far from Home, Following the King Rama 5. (100 ปี ไกลบ้าน ตามเสด็จพระพุทธเจ้าหลวง) I feel like it fits the exciting atmosphere of traveling far away, and I think the song was chosen at the right time. Because the events of that trip happened at the same time as this song (King Rama 5 of Siam). 👏👏👏

I listened to this symphony live twice and every time when they played this part all I thought about "Shostakovich, you didn't have to do that to me". The unstoppable and uncontrollable drum that rushes towards you, the coward pizzicato in the beginning and the heartbreaking tutti in the end - all of it was in the air of the concert hall. But of all of that was one thing that made me suffer the most: the drum that got louder with every time. With each time you just think that it can't get worse and then it becomes worse. This music is eternal, every human in the world should know about this great piece and the sufferings of my ancestors so it never repeats again

Listed again. This is magisterial! This a real realisation, unlike the other one which seems to get the public acceptance. But is not artistic, nor engaged with the Bruckner zeitgeist! This version is true, for those who love the master Bruckner. The other completion (so called) with their "bifolios etc etc) Is unmusical. Pip Pip

This is superb! This one just transform this song from solemn and rather sad story about someone longing for the loved ones (from the lyrics) into an energetic and uplifting tale of a lover eagers to meet his partner again with full anticipation while riding back home through the woods at full speed. P.S. Your conducting style kinda reminds me of Richard Strauss, calm, peaceful, orderly, and let the song do its wonder.
